Foreign direct investment entry mode and China’s carbon productivity based on spatial econometric model

As the world’s largest developing country and carbon emitter, China must consider economic growth emission reduction in development. Therefore, improving productivity is an important goal of at present. At same time, China’s foreign capital inflow has always been forefront world, direct investment (FDI) had various impacts on productivity. Based panel data 25 provinces from 2007 to 2019, this paper uses a spatial econometric model study difference impact FDI under different entry modes. The found that: when enters mode joint ventures, there positive spillover effect, which conducive productivity; while wholly foreign-owned enterprises, negative will inhibit improvement introducing capital, Chinese government should formulate differentiated policies according modes FDI, encourage more enter ventures.
